Hi everyone!
Since I have started a new blog I have decided to do things a little differently around here, which includes holding regular giveaway contests! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
The first giveaway will be for 4.15 ounces of beautiful hand-painted Falkland combed top!
Just browse through the blog, find something you like, and write about it in the comment section of this post. A winner will be chosen at random on Wednesday, June 17. Remember to post about it to ravelry, twitter, facebook, plurk, your blog, etc to be entered twice in the giveaway! Just post here about your extra social networking post with link to be given extra credit. :)
oh wow Lisa, what a fab idea. I love your blog and your rovings I really couldn't pick a fav because you always make me drool.

ReplyDeleteI posted a comment earlier but I think the internet ate it.
ReplyDeleteI said something along the lines of, I really like the color scheme of your blog. The white really puts the focus on where the attention should be, your beautiful fibers. My favorite blogs use this color scheme. Love it.
I'm a big fan of your fiber, especially this guy http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26019463 Love love. Saving up my pennies.
Can I just say I like everything?
ReplyDeleteJust RT about the contest

ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of your blog is the eye candy that you have in almost EVERY post! Gorgeous fibers!
ReplyDeleteThe colours and textures are really amazing, but I think the thing I like the best is that you are tweeting about updates. Like most of us, I am on Twitter a lot more than I am reading blogs.
ReplyDeleteI just retweeted about your contest just now.

ReplyDeleteGreat I dea but I gotta say it's kinda mean too. I mean you have such scrumtious images of your lovely products and my first wheel won't be here for weeks (and hubby doesn;t know yet so another shopping spree wouldn't be wise). :)
ReplyDeleteI do like to hear about your animals. We've just lost our little girl (weimaraner) and can symapthize with everything you are going through. ((((hugs))))
Mmm, love the 1100 greens colorway. I also really appreciate that you have larger amounts, not 2 oz at a time. Also the 1081 purple in the sold items. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteYour fibre is gorgeous! I especially love the Falkland colour 1084
ReplyDeleteYour colorways rock-however what I really like, that you didn't list here on your site is that you use non-toxic colorfast dyes (you state this on your etsy store info)-that rocks!

ReplyDeleteI hadn't made the connection that we were both in the area until I read your post about the Estes Park Wool Market! I went up for a bit just on Sunday. I was good resisted any fiber (for now) and brough home just a little yarn to augment a prior EPWM purchase. I'm jealous about your Matchless purchase though! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I love all of your colorways and your great photos to show them off. As I was reading through your blog though, what really caught my eye was your post in April 2008 with a picture of 4 of your handspuns. They were all awesome!
ReplyDeleteAll of your fibers are beautiful! But I'd have to say that those pictures of the fawn alpaca really do take the cake!
ReplyDeleteAdorable fawn alpaca pics! I did not go to Estes this year - last minute trip to TX

ReplyDeleteThose alpaca eyes are hard to resist, as is the wonderful profile shot of your labrador, but I think the blurry fiber photo from May 10 2008 is actually my favorite. Today.
Hiya! I love that you are having a contest, which caused people to post your blog all over twitter which led me here to look at your lovely fibers and actually enter the contest in hopes of winning and if not, then just to find a source for pretties to feed my fibery addiction :) I retweeted with the URL to your blog and added you to my list of followees.
ReplyDeleteHi :) I am new here. Ohhh I am sooo in love with those Alpacas... :)

ReplyDeleteSusie_Knits from Ravelry here. Wow!
ReplyDeleteYou ads and your fiber in people's stash has been catching my eye as of late but wow! your site is even better. I love that you don't name your colorways ... but the giveaway fiber is definitely "Mermaid" ohhh! Luv it all!
Pretty much everything you have on your blog is amazing. As soon as I read about the fiber club, I went over to Etsy, only to find it sold out... maybe next month!

First time to your blog--- traveled over from your ravelry post. Can I just say your color sense is wonderful!!! I especially love the natural color fiber in the next post!
ReplyDeleteLisa, what a fabulous idea! It's so hard to pick a favorite fiber of yours - I love them all. But you know I am drooling over your merino now and I LOVE the greenish one from your update before last. I should have caved but I was trying to be good. Now I regret that. ;)
ReplyDeleteoff to twitter now!
yay! i twitted right here: http://twitter.com/trellisaze
ReplyDeleteI loe everything you dye - beautiful sense of color. But the post about Luna struck my heart. I hope you are doing o.k. We went through the same thing with our 13 year old Doberman Pinscher. It was tough - I knew it was for the best, but it was so hard to do. My heart goes out to you and Poppy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and I've never spun Falkland. Had to put my 2 ducats in!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and grat idea - I came about your blog via facebook - I really like http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26019463&ref=em this wools colorway because it is so uefull for both a lilltle boy or his bigger sister who no more like pink!
I imange it being just for so many wounderful things for either one or maby both of my friends two kids
I am a new spinner, just 4 months along. I started out with a Louet wheel (which now has a new home) and fell in love the Schacht wheels. I SO wish I could have afforded a Matchless or the new anniversary Matchless (CONGRATS!!), but the Ladybug is now at home with me. Maybe when I get some of your roving I can spin it and enter it into the Schacht 40th anniversary contest and win an anniversary Matchless of my own. How cool would that be?
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of your rovings and would love to try spinning with one of them. Also, I CRAVE that fleece you just got, it looks so Yummy. My drum carder arrived today so you could say I am really hooked into spinning now.
Thanks for the opportunity to win some of the roving, very nice way to try your beautiful stuff...
Just posted on my wall about the blog and entering your giveaway. You can see it here:

ReplyDeleteYour colorways are very pretty, and I always like to meet another animal lover. Your puppies are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I am very happy to have stumbled across your blog-all of your colorways are GORGEOUS! I think my favorite one that I came across was this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/poppyflowerfibers/3344172965/ although I like this set: http://pics.livejournal.com/poppyflowerfibr/pic/0002e6pe/ with the first of the set being my favorite of all of them. I really enjoy natural and muted colors more for things that I knit for myself, but everything you do is wonderful and vibrant. Also, HOLY COW are those alpacas flipping cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours of the fibres. Mmm...fibre. But I really like comparing all the pictures of the different colourways together. And the pictures of the animals. But then who doesn't like those things?
ReplyDeleteWondeful, wonderful fibers! Definately will be seeing these is my fiber dreams! I love the picture of Luna and the pup such a gaze! The baby llama is adorable too! I wil being heading back to Ravelry to post again! Love the blog, will be back to indulge in fiber soon!
ReplyDeletePoppy flowers and blooms of fiber to tempt me into spinning all summer! I'll be following your blog daily. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAudrey
I'm not sure its possible to pick which gorgeous piece of fiber you've chosen to share with us is my favorite. They are all stunning! This really makes me want to learn to spin!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite though, as of right now, is that picture of the baby alpaca. Absolutely adorable!
The picture of the huge stack of dyed fibre took my breath away. Had to comment on it on Flickr.... ;)
ReplyDeleteOkay...that picture of the baby alpacas is just too adorably cute!!! And of course I just want to roll around in the yummy fleece too. Okay...do I have to pick just one picture or thing I like? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa. The photographs of your fiber are all gorgeous. It's hard to pick a favorite.
ReplyDeletePoppy Flower Fibers are just STUNNING! The featured Roving Give Away instills in me the serenity that I feel when I am scuba diving off the coast of California. The richness of the greens, blues, and yellow golds are an example of the beauty that lies beneath the ocean surface; the pristine blue waters, the vast deep green kelp beds, and the yellow golds that represent so many of California's marine life. Poppy Flower Fibers equal warmth, peace, and tranquilty!
ReplyDeleteShared on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php
that picture of the fawn alpaca is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeletejust want to snuggle it... :o)
Elaine.
What a wonderful new blog--and and already featured in Spin-Off? How cool is that? I had a hard time picking just one thing to comment on, until I saw the 1066 merino. It's hard to get greens that clear and rich. Lovely work!
ReplyDelete~sciteacher@Ravelry
Love the vivid colours of your fibres.
ReplyDeleteThe fawn alpaca has the most amazing eyes - understand why you liked her so.

ReplyDeleteLike so many other people, I love those alpaca pictures (especially the second one).
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for all the great feedback. I read every single comment and really appreciate it. I was especially touched by the condolences regarding Luna. I miss her so much and am getting all teary eyed just writing this. I also received lots of comments about the sweet alpaca photos and I couldn't agree more. That fawn alpaca is a heart stealer.
ReplyDeleteI'm about to randomly choose a winner, so stay tuned for a new post with the results. :)
